Scrum Master (CSM) — frequently asked questions
Can I take the CSM test without a course?
No. Scrum Alliance requires completing an approved 16-hour course from a Certified Scrum Trainer before you can access the test.
How does CSM compare to PSM I?
CSM requires a course but has an easier test; PSM I (Scrum.org) needs no course but has a harder 85% exam and never expires.
