About the Google Cloud Professional certification
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect is Google Cloud's flagship professional certification. It tests the ability to design, develop, and manage robust, secure, scalable, and dynamic solutions on Google Cloud — including case studies Google publishes in advance and reuses on the exam.
It is widely treated as more scenario-heavy than the Associate Cloud Engineer. Validity is 2 years (shorter than the Associate's 3 years).
Who it’s for: Architects and senior engineers who design production systems on Google Cloud.

Google Cloud Professional — frequently asked questions
Should I take Associate Cloud Engineer first?
It's not required, but the Associate is a practical on-ramp. Professional Cloud Architect assumes you can already deploy and operate, then asks you to design.
Are the case studies a surprise?
No. Google publishes them. Several exam questions refer to those documents — study them as if they were take-home specs.
